Whipped Tallow Balm – Calendula Infused

Slow-made. Earth-rooted. Skin-loving.
 
This is not your average tallow.
 
Each jar begins with locally sourced beef suet, hand-trimmed and ground by me, then wet rendered a minimum of three times for purity and clarity. From there, I infuse the clean tallow with organic calendula petals for over eight hours, letting the golden blooms slowly release their skin-soothing magic.
 
To bring balance and softness, I blend in a trio of botanical oils:

Argan oil, rich in oleic and linoleic acids, to nourish dry skin and improve elasticity
 
Apricot kernel oil, a lightweight emollient that mimics your skin’s natural sebum
 
Apple seed oil, a rare gem packed with antioxidants and essential fatty acids
 
Together, these oils round out the fatty acid profile of pure tallow, naturally high in saturated and monounsaturated fats, by adding a healthy dose of polyunsaturated fats and protective phytonutrients. This blend helps improve skin barrier function while reducing the risk of pore-clogging or heaviness sometimes associated with 100% animal-based balms. It’s the best of both worlds: the ancestral nourishment of tallow with the lightness and balance of plant wisdom.
 
Once cooled to the perfect consistency, I whip the balm into a soft, breathable cloud and add a carefully measured trio of essential oils, not just for their scent, but for their therapeutic benefits:
 
Lavender soothes inflammation, calms redness, and supports wound healing
 
Peppermint brings a gentle cooling sensation and stimulates circulation
 
Rosemary is clarifying and antioxidant-rich, supporting cell regeneration and clarity
 
This formulation absorbs easily, melts into your skin with a velvety finish, and brings both instant relief and long-term resilience.
 
For sensitive souls, I also offer this balm without essential oils, the same whipped tallow and calendula base, just pure and fragrance-free.
